Dressing for success is a very important component in all that we do, for both men and women alike. Whether we are attending a business meeting or a job interview, or perhaps even an evening party, we all want to look and feel our best within those spaces. Now I’m sure you’d agree with me when I say that the easiest part is showing up. The challenge most of my clients have is figuring out what to wear to these formal events.
Does that sound like you? That’s great because I’m here to help. Styling one’s self is not always easy but it is however, mandatory. While we all have our own unique style, there is an across the board standard as for what is acceptable and what is not. The Fashion Frenze is big on class, taste and sophistication.
Here are just some over all tips to help you dress for your success...
Dress As If You Are Going Some Where Nice After
This right here will always keep you ten steps ahead, no matter where you are. Looking nice and carrying yourself well is not just for “special occasions”. Looking nice is for the office, the appointments, the events, the meetings, the blogs, I mean you name it. Get dressed with the intention to look good, to turn heads, in a good way. Just watch how many doors are opened for you, literally.
Get Dressed With A Goal In Mind
I don’t know about you, but for myself, I usually try to envision my outfit, long before I wear it. Often times, before I go to bed, I’ll think of a style image for the next day. This allows me to save so much time. If I do not like an item, it’s easier and more efficient to add something new. At the most, I only have to switch up one or two items, versus an entire outfit.
Conservative Is Always Better
Believe it or not, there is a right and wrong way to do this. I believe in a modest balance. If you are anything like me, you want to still be found attractive, without showing off too much. For women I suggest a 3/4ths rule. The 3/4ths rule is my go to. For example, if I am wearing a dress that shows off my legs, then my chest is probably going to be covered. Now I know, in the summer, it becomes a little more difficult to keep this rule and that’s okay. So long as the outfit you are wearing isn’t showing all of your goods. Pick one attribute to show off, maybe two… and keep the rest covered.
Keep Yourself Together
Being well groomed, accentuates your outfit. I cannot say it any louder for the people in the back. Let me put it this way, you can make or break an entire outfit, just by implementing this tip alone. Get rid of chipped nails, and unkempt hair. Iron your clothes. Use that designer perfume you got for Christmas… whatever the case may be. Just do it okay? I promise you, you will thank me later.
